HOW TO USE LINKEDLEADS

From a question to a useful list.

Find people, research companies, explore jobs and posts, or monitor changes. Follow the workflow that fits your goal.

Looking for a workflow for your goal? Explore practical use cases →

1. Choose what you want returned.

Start with the type of result you need. Finding someone with a job title is different from finding a vacancy or a post they wrote.

I want…UseExample
Professionals with particular rolesPeopleOperations directors in the UK
Businesses to researchCompaniesSoftware companies with 11–50 employees
Advertised vacanciesJobsRemote data engineer jobs
What people are sayingPostsPosts announcing “we raised funding”
Updates over timeSignalsNew jobs at a known company
Details for a known person or companyUpdate a profileRefresh a record using its LinkedIn URL

Customers need an active paid pass to run live actions. Start with 5–25 results while learning. Opening a form does not run a search.

2. Describe your search with AI.

  1. Open AI Search.
  2. Describe the result type, role or subject, location, and any important restrictions. Keep your request under 1,000 characters.
  3. Choose how many results you need, then click Find Results. This submits a live request; ordinary AI searches show their plan and then start automatically.
  4. Open the resulting list to follow progress. Saved-company follow-ups instead ask you to review and start the plan explicitly.
Try: “Find operations directors in the UK at companies with 51–200 employees.”

For posts, say: “Find LinkedIn posts saying we are hiring data engineers.” For a profile refresh, include the actual LinkedIn profile URL.

AI translates your description into supported filters. Up2Data collects the data. AI cannot invent unavailable filters or guarantee that every requested detail is present in the results. If a criterion is unsupported, simplify the request or use the manual form.

You have 10 AI requests per day, resetting at 00:00 UTC. The remaining count appears on AI Search. Manual searches remain available after this limit, subject to your normal allowances. Technical interpretation failures release the daily AI request; an unsupported interpretation counts toward it but does not use scraping credits.

For a task that depends on earlier results—such as finding people at companies returned by a job search—use the saved-results workflow below. Do not assume one prompt automatically connects separate searches.

3. Set filters manually.

People and companies

Open People or Companies. Add relevant keywords, a location and company size. People Search also accepts job titles separated by commas. Set your maximum results and an optional list name, then submit.

Start with two or three restrictions. Too few matches? Remove one filter. Too many unrelated matches? Make one filter more specific.

Jobs and posts

In Jobs, enter a role, then use available location, workplace and recency options. A job result is a vacancy, not a contact at the company.

In Posts, enter wording likely to appear in the post itself. Use the available date restriction when recency matters.

For people at a known company, use a company from saved results where possible. Name lookup requires selecting the correct company; identical names do not establish identity. People searches with selected company IDs show a review before execution.

To refresh details, open Update a profile, choose a person or company, paste its LinkedIn URL, then click Refresh details. This uses the refresh allowance when a record is returned.

4. Use wording that matches your goal.

Broad wordingMore specific wordingWhat to check
fundingwe raised fundingIs this the company's own announcement or someone discussing funding?
hiringwe are hiring data engineersIs the role relevant and is the vacancy still open?
cybersecuritylooking for a cybersecurity partnerIs this a request for help, an advertisement or a general discussion?

These are wording examples, not guarantees of exact-phrase matching. AI can correct obvious typos while retaining your meaning. LinkedIn can still return related text.

“Find founders posting about hiring” calls for posts. Their author details may help rank relevance, but a post keyword match does not verify that the author is a founder or that their company fits your industry.

Live LinkedIn research

Up2Data collects results from LinkedIn when your search runs. This is not a list of prequalified buyers. Specific roles, places and wording help you find relevant matches; keywords alone do not prove buying intent.

For example, “we raised funding” targets a company’s own announcement more closely than “funding.” AI corrects obvious typos while preserving your meaning. LinkedIn matching can still return related posts. Jev sorts AI Search results by relevance to your original request when available.

5. Review, save and export.

  1. Open your search in My lists. Queued searches may take time; you can leave and return later.
  2. Read the returned details and open the original LinkedIn link. Check role, company, date and context before using a result.
  3. For AI Search, Jev sorts results against your original request when available. Match scores estimate relevance, not buying intent. Unranked results can still be useful.
  4. Use Hide duplicates to simplify the displayed list and Export CSV to download it.

Opening or exporting existing results costs no extra allowance. Hiding duplicates does not reverse usage. Saving filters lets you run a fresh search later; that new search is chargeable and may return records you have seen before.

6. Use one search to prepare the next.

You choose each next step. Opening a saved-result action does not repeat the original search.

Example: job results → people at that company

  1. Run a job search and open its completed list.
  2. Click Use these results, find the company you want, then choose Find people.
  3. If a company ID is available in your saved data, People Search opens with that company selected. If only a LinkedIn company URL is available, click Identify company and continue. This uses one company/profile refresh and then opens People Search automatically. Company subpages such as /life are handled.
  4. Add the roles you want, such as Founder or Head of Operations. Review the selected company and maximum usage, then start the people search.

If the provider cannot return a usable company ID, the app stops rather than guessing a same-name company. A result containing only a name requires manual company verification.

Find people across several saved companies

When Search from these results is available, select up to 50 companies with saved IDs. Choose manual filters or use AI to describe the people you need. Review and start one people search. Your requested count is shared across all selected companies, not repeated for each company. Some companies may return no matches.

Other follow-up actions

From Use these results, a company can lead to a job search at that company, a refresh or monitoring. A profile or post author can lead to a profile refresh or profile monitoring. A post can be monitored for edits. Available actions depend on the identifiers returned.

Each submitted follow-up uses its normal allowance. A company-specific job follow-up searches one company at a time; it does not silently launch a job search for every company in your list.

7. Watch for changes with signals.

  1. Open Signals and name your monitor.
  2. Choose what to watch: new jobs at a company; profile, company or post changes; or new people, companies or posts matching a search.
  3. Provide the LinkedIn URL or supported search filters, then choose a schedule. Daily is a useful starting point when you do not need frequent checks.
  4. Click Create signal. The first successful check establishes a baseline. It is not a new-event alert.
  5. Open its history for later changes. Check now requests an additional check. Use Pause monitoring when finished, or archive it to retain history without ongoing checks.

Search signals examine up to 25 results per check; they are not an exhaustive watch of every LinkedIn result. Monitoring a post tracks changes to that post, not future posts by its author.

Each successful check uses one monitoring check, including the baseline and checks with no changes. Customer monitoring pauses when access expires or the allowance runs out. An in-progress check may finish after pausing. Updates appear in the app; email alerts are not included.

8. Understand your allowances.

Plans provide 30 days of access through a one-time purchase, with no automatic renewal. Your purchased search credits and daily AI requests are separate. Check My plan and Overview for your current allowances.

ActionAllowance used
People, company or post searchOne search run plus credits for returned results from the shared search allowance
Job searchOne search run plus returned jobs from the separate job allowance
Profile/company refresh, including identifying a company by URLOne refresh when a record is returned
Successful signal checkOne monitoring check, including baseline and no-change checks
AI interpretationOne daily AI request; executed actions also use their normal allowances
Open a list, download CSV or open a follow-up formNo extra allowance

Unused reserved results are restored when a search finishes. Empty or failed searches restore their search allowance and run. Partial results count as returned results. Your Linkedleads allowances follow the app's rules, not the provider's credit pricing.

9. Troubleshooting and support.

  • No results: loosen one restriction or try more common wording.
  • Unrelated posts: use a more specific phrase and read the original context.
  • Search waiting: check its status in My lists. Submitting another search does not speed up the first.
  • AI limit reached: use manual search or return after 00:00 UTC.
  • Company lookup problem: use its saved LinkedIn URL through Use these results → Find people. If identification fails, contact support with the source list.

Open Help & support, submit your question, then return to read and reply in the same thread. Include the list name or order reference. Support replies are not emailed automatically. You can also email [email protected].
